Thank you for wearing the glove today. Before we can collect data, we have to calibrate the glove. The goal of this calibration process is to make the glove on screen look like your hand posture. This first video shows how to put on the glove. First put on the white glove.
The tan gloves are very fragile. If you pull on the tan part of the glove, it will break. You are allowed to pull the black part, but you must be gentle. Slowly put your hand in the glove, and wiggle your fingers.

Next, you will need to perform a flat B handshape, and the researcher will click a button on the computer. Then, you will need to perform an F handshape, and the researcher will click a button again.

Put your hand palm-down on the pillow, keep your hand flat. Do not bend your fingers backwards.

Put your hand in a ‘bent B’ handshape. Put the back of your hand on the table. Your palm should be up. Hold your hand in this position using the other hand if you need some support. After that, put your hand in a flat B handshape again if the researcher asks.

Put you hand on the pillow in a ‘5’ handshape. Keep your hand flat. Keep all fingers straight. Put the little triangles between your fingers to keep them spread apart.

Make a ‘flat B’ handshape. You should slowly alternate between the ‘Flat B’ and ‘5’ handshapes. If you are getting tired, then you use the other hand to help hold your fingers. Repeat slowly.

Switch between the ‘Thumb-Extended A’ and ‘Thumb-Crooked A’ handshapes. Bend and open the tip of the Thumb as much as possible.

Put your hand in the 'Mitten' handshape. The back of your hand should be on the table. Use your other hand to hold your palm. Slowly bend your thumb. Repear slowly.

The calibration is now finished. Now we are ready to record some data. The researcher will give you directions. After we collect data, you will later take off the glove. Please wait until the researcher asks you to take off the glove. If you take it off too soon, then we may need to repeat the calibration.
The last video shows how to take off the glove. Be very careful. The gloves are fragile. You should wiggle your fingers and slowly take your hand out of the glove. You should not pull the tan part of the glove. You should not pull the fingers of the glove. You can hold the black part gentle, and you should very slowly pull your hand out of the glove.
